The authors establish weighted inequalities for the Bochner-Riesz means and the corresponding maximal operator in the plane. These capture the known \(L^q\) results for these operators simultaneously for all values of \(q>2\). The sharp \(L^4\) estimate for the natural square function associated to the problem is also obtained. The results of the authors are interesting especially for the Bochner-Riesz means of small index.
