The fraction greater than $62 \mu$ was separated from three deep sea cores, the calcium carbonate put into solution, and calcium, strontium, magnesium, and manganese determined in the calcium carbonate fraction. Strontium and magnesium were relatively constant in this carbonate fraction, but manganese showed a significant increase with depth in core.
