On the Status of Methodological Individualism

Abstract

A partir de la critique d'une proposition theorique de l'anthropologue Duran Bell sur l'etude des comportements sociaux des groupes de chasseurs-cueilleurs et du partage de l'alimentation qui ne pourraient etre interpretes selon le point de vue de l'individualisme methodologique, l'A. propose d'analyser le statut meme de cet individualisme methodologique dans la theorie sociale dans sa totalite. L'individualisme, generalement etudie dans les formes d'economie des societes, demande une analyse theorique plus ample qui engloberait de fait la discipline anthropologique et ses rapports avec l'economie et la philosophie politique.
