The purpose of this study was to compare the optic disc topography parameters in migrainous and normal subjects, by using Heidelberg retinal tomograph (HRT). The topographic optic disc parameters of 29 nonglaucomatous eyes of 29 cases with migraine and 29 eyes of 29 normal subjects were compared with nonparametric Mann Whitney U test. The mean cup area (0.743 mm2) and cup to disc ratio (0.345) of migrainous subjects were greater than the mean cup area (0.591 mm2) and cup to disc ratio (0.288) of normal subjects (p = .009, p = .005). This result suggests that migrainous subjects have larger cup areas and higher cup to disc ratio ratios than normal subjects.
