AbstractThis chapter describes the different forms of crop loss caused by pests and pathogens in Brassica crops, including land capital value and direct yield loss. It identifies the major pests (insects, nematodes, molluscs and vertebrates) and pathogens (fungi, bacteria, viruses and mycoplasma-like organisms) and highlights the importance of crop monitoring and forecasting for their control.
