The philotarsid (Psocoptera) fauna of Australia is reviewed comprehensively for the first time. Of the 29 species treated, 21 are described as new, 11 in Haplophallus , 1 in Zelandopsocus , and 9 in Austropsocus ; redescriptions are provided for Austropsocus sinuosus (Banks) and Austropsocus viridis (Enderlein). Aaroniella pallida New is synonymized with Aaroniella rawlingsi Smithers, and Haplophallus capitulatus Smithers with Haplophallus bundoorensis New. The New Zealand species Haplophallus rnaculatus (Tillyard) is recorded from Australia for the first time, and the affinities of other Australian species are discussed.
