The drift velocities of electrons have been measured in dry, carbon dioxide free, air at 293 K over the range 0·3 ,;:; E/N,;:; 12 Td for gas pressures between 10 and 50 torr. The results are compared with the data of Nielsen and Bradbury (1937) and Hessenauer (1967).
