Thysanotus tuberosus is a liIiaceous perennial herbaceous plant with a distribution extending from south-east South Australia through Victoria and New South Wales to Queensland and reaching the northern limit of its range at two localities in the Territory of Papua and New Guinea. A collecting expedition in 1959-60 in connection with the author's revisional and experimental taxonomic work on the genus resulted in the collection of herbarium specimens and live plants from a series of localities as far north as southern Queensland.
