SMEs which operates with moderate financial investments has many issues to overcome and sustain in the business. Lean manufacturing is been implemented by SMEs to solve different problems they face. The aim of this paper is to study the impact of lean manufacturing in small and medium enterprises SMEs. The implementation of lean manufacturing in small scale industries and its impact on the performance is studied. The research has been carried by interviewing and analyzing the past and present records of the firms. The result has been constructed into case studies. The survey of literature has been gathered from research articles, books, news articles and interaction with SMEs were employed as research method adopted for this study. The findings of this paper are that SMEs adopting the lean practices can scale up and sustain much more effectively.
