Recent experimental data on neutral‐neutral reactions have been included in two large‐scale, pseudo‐time‐dependent models of a cold, dense interstellar cloud. The inclusion of reactions involving CN and C atoms has the effect of reducing the calculated abundances of many complex organic molecules from those calculated in previous models, such that it is difficult to reconcile predicted and observed abundances. Specific reactions are identified for further laboratory and theoretical study.
