Dissipative Structures in Chemical Systems

Abstract

A detailed analysis is reported of the behavior of a very simple mechanism that provides an example of chemical instability with respect to free diffusion. The appearance in time of a dissipative structure may be followed, and it is verified that the new steady state which is reached is completely stable.
