The periodic-orbit theory of Gutzwiller is applied in various ways by using generalized periodic-orbit sum rules. Numerical evaluations are carried out for the hyperbola billiard, a strongly chaotic system. The most efficient semiclassical determination of quantum energies is achieved by a quantization condition, which is formulated in terms of a zeta function by using a functional equation.

| citations This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 13 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Top 10% | |
