THE YEAR CONTINUES to fly by and once again the fall season is rapidly approaching. For many of us, now is a time for buying school supplies and clothes, signing up for classes and activities, and generally getting ready for the mad rush of a new school year. Regardless of whether you have preschoolers or college kids, there is a list of “to-dos” that must be accomplished and a supply list that must be tracked down and purchased. I too have the same lists to tackle, and I am doing so with little thought as to why the supplies are needed. They seem, afterall, essential to the educational process. When my daughter was entering kindergarten, however, we received a “Kindergarten Supply List” that was designed more for the spirit and soul than for the basics of education. This list has held a prominent place on my refrigerator for a couple of years. I have never been able to find the author of this list, and I have taken the liberty of expanding it. I would like to share this list because it serves us not only in kindergarten, but in all areas of our lives. My basic rule is that we should not step out of the door, and particularly into the workplace, without the following supplies.
