To the WEGA Tokamak plasma, up to 90 kW RF power near the lower hybrid frequency (500 MHz) have been applied using interna1 coupling structures. Measurements of electron temperature profiles by different methods are presented. It appears that the electrons do not absorb a significant fraction of HF power. Fast ions are produced during the HF which flux decays in about 100 µs. A bulk ion temperature increase of about 90 eV (or 60 %) is observed with a decay time after the HF is turned off of the order of 2 ms.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 1 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
