</script>This paper provides for a summary of facts which are indispensable for nuclear waste disposal. Information is presented on types of radioactive wastes and the origin, the waste treatment procedures and some characteristics of the waste forms. Finally the various host rocks and the international disposal concepts are discussed and the procedures for safety analyses are shortly described.
