Passive low-power single-phase—3-phase convertor

Abstract

The paper describes a passive network for producing a balanced 3-phase output from a single-phase source. The novelty of the method centres on the observation that a single-phase supply can be regarded as a particular case of an unbalanced 3-phase system, and employs phase-balancing concepts which are derived from symmetrical component-measuring techniques.
