The UK, unlike its competitors, has historically undervalued the space industry, having abandoned launcher technology. The UK is the only nuclear state to have abandoned rocket launcher technology and is the only permanent member of the UN Security Council not to have a space agency. The author puts forward reasons why the UK should embrace the space industry and dispels various myths held.
