Chloroplasts as Functional Endosymbionts in the Mollusc Tridachia crispata (Bërgh), (Opisthobranchia, Sacoglossa)

Abstract

THE sacoglossan opisthobranch gastropod Tridachia crispata (Bergh) was reported by Yonge and Nicholas1 to have symbiotic unicellular zooxanthellae (Dinophyceae). It was suggested that there was a functional relationship between the algae and the marine slugs.
