This work deals with the problem of small-time local controllability of a class of polynomial control systems. The local properties of the corresponding reachable sets are studied by using a general differential-geometrical approach based on the Campbell-Baker-Hausdorff (C-B-H) formula. As main result a new sufficient condition of small-time local controllability is established. Two four-dimensional examples are provided to illustrate the result.
