
Abstract In the present work, we examine a beam of neutrons incident on a layered array of single-crystal Li 6 D , for possible fusion interactions. Two processes are examined: relatively high-energy neutron processes and low energy, ‘ 1 / v ’ neutron processes. The yield of the low energy ‘ 1 / v ’ neutron process gives the output power W ≳ 1.1 MW . A method for moderating the output as well as a technique of extracting energy from the device are described as well. A discussion is included on effects due to neutron reflection in the spaces between slabs.
