Horizontal neutron channel is used to guide neutrons out of the core of a nuclear research reactor. The traditional rotary gate of horizontal neutron channel is reviewed. It has been used for more than 40 years. But its central axle area has higher radiation because of low shield performance of steel. The proposed multi axles rotary gate solves the problem. One long axle is cut into five short ones so the shield performance increases. New problems appear for the multi axles rotary gate, the varied rotate sequence of the disks and the impact of dial pole. The problems are analyzed by empirical equation, which shows no serious result. A revised non-axle rotary gate is therefore proposed finally. The new design has low impact, rotates easily and positions easily.
