Abstract Aluminium matrix composites have employed in various fields such as aerospace and automobile. Aluminium metal matrix composite, 15% Silicon carbide reinforced to AA 7475 has prepared by stir casting. In this process, Water pressure, stand off distance, flow rate and transverse speed on kerf angle and surface roughness of aluminium based composites have been studied by abrasive water jet machining. Taguchi’s method has been used to perform the drilling tests. Multi-objective optimization on the basis of ratio analysis has used to find the optimum process parameters. From all test it was found that the transverse speed and stand off distance affects the kerf angle and surface roughness than other parameters.
