Abstract This paper is a research on numerical simulation of friction stir welding process. Numerical Simulation assists in time reduction and also reduces expenditure on experimental trials. The paper uses transient thermal analysis method in ANSYS software. The paper aims at integrating friction stir processing simulation with tensile test simulation in ANSYS platform. The research paper has employed fracture stress for validation of the results obtained through simulation. For simulation studies, tool rotation speed and tool transverse speed of 2000 rpm and 10mm/min, respectively were chosen. The fracture stress values obtained through the simulation matched with an equivalent experimental trial.
