Abstract

Resume L’objectif de cette etude etait de comparer les traits et les facettes de personnalite selon le profil d’activisme professionnel. Cent cinquante-cinq salaries francais (cadres, managers, chefs d’entreprise) ont complete l’echelle Workaholism Battery de Spence et Robbins qui mesure les trois composantes de leur « triade workaholique » (Implication au travail, Tendance compulsive a travailler et Satisfaction au travail). Cent-quarante sujets ont egalement complete : (1) l’inventaire de personnalite de Costa et McCrae en 240 items (NEO PI-R) qui evaluent cinq traits de personnalite et 30 facettes de personnalite (6 facettes par trait) ; (2) l’echelle Dutch Work Addiction Scale qui mesure deux composantes d’activisme professionnel (Travailler excessivement et Travailler compulsivement). Ainsi, nous pouvions comparer les traits de personnalite entre trois groupes : (1) travailleurs non excessifs ; (2) travailleurs excessifs enthousiastes (scores eleves dans les trois composantes de la triade de Spence et Robbins) ; (3) travailleurs excessifs non enthousiastes (Implication et Tendance compulsive elevees, Satisfaction faible). Les scores de Nevrosisme et de trois facettes anxio-depressives (Anxiete, Depression, Vulnerabilite au stress) sont significativement plus eleves chez les travailleurs excessifs non enthousiastes que chez les travailleurs excessifs enthousiastes. Nos resultats mettent en evidence la necessite de distinguer deux profils d’activisme professionnel (enthousiaste vs non enthousiaste) pour une prevention efficiente et une indication therapeutique adaptee.
