Abstract

This chapter firstly introduces the relationships between the safety assessment activities and aircraft development activities. Then the safety assessment process and analysis methods are briefly introduced. This chapter also describes the safety activities and responsibilities of aircraft manufacturer and suppliers, and places great emphasis on the management of safety activities. There are also some additional topics, such as the CCMR, MMEL, and ETOPS, which are related and complementary to the process of system safety assessment.
