Abstract Values are presented and discussed for the thermal conductivity and electrical resistivity of a sample of rhenium. The temperature range covered is 80° to 500°K, for the thermal conductivity and 1.85° to 1,660°K for the electrical resistivity. The low-temperature thermal conductivity values agree well with those of White and woods ; at normal temperature the thermal conductivity is 0.48 Jem/cm 2 sec/°C, well below the currently tabled value of 0.71. The lattice component of thermal conductivity amounts to about 20% of the total over the upper half of the range studied.
