The conjugation of vitamin B-12 to HSA by means of a combined ethylcarbodiimide N-hydroxysuccinimide conjugation method at pH 5.5 is described. It gave a ratio of 2.7 mol vitamin B-12/mol HSA. Five rabbits were immunized with this conjugate emulsified in Freund's complete adjuvant. After one booster injection high titre antisera (1 : 450 000--1 : 1 500 00) to vitamin B-12 were collected.
