An application for visualization of results from 3D CFD computations has been developed, utilizing VR technology to improve the level of interaction with the target data set. The application displays geometry and solution data in a format used by a Navier-Stokes solver called VOLSOL developed by Volvo Aero Corp. By designing a visualization program specifically for a ccNUMA computer with powerful computation and graphics capabilities, a high level of interaction can be achieved in combination with fast traversal of large data sets.
