Abstract

The title of my lecture implies some general remarks related both to fission and muonic atoms. It is relevant to start with fission because the main goal of the experiments we are going to discuss was to learn more about fission itself. But one has to keep in mind also that the fission processs is well understood now and it is tempting from time to time to consider it as a rather good tool for the study of other processes.
