In the project presented in this article by WTZ Roslau gGmbH, the impact of cooled exhaust gas recirculation was tested on a single-cylinder gas engine in lean mixture conditions. Special focus was on the basic engine parameters, such as thermal efficiency, brake mean effective pressure (BMEP), knocking behaviour and a reduction in the emission of unburned hydrocarbon (THC).
