In 1989, powdery mildew (Oidium sp.) was found on tomatoes (Lycopersicon esculen-tum L. Mill.) under glass in Bulgaria. Microscopic examinations indicated that the mildew was typical ofOidium sp. Forty species, forms, breeding lines and cultivars of tomato were evaluated for their susceptibility to powdery mildew. Seven of them were immune to the disease.
