Abstract

Blackleg of potatoes in a center pivot irrigated circle of Kennebec potatoes in Oregon’s Columbia Basin was caused by eitherErwinia carotovora var.atroseptica (Eca) orE. carotovora var.carotovora (Ecc). Eca was recovered only early in the growing season whereasEcc was associated with blackleg symptoms later in the season.
