The paper deals with the study of a problem on absolute summability factor of a Fourier series by using triangular matrix means. The result obtained by the authors extends results due to \textit{B. N. Prasad} and \textit{S. N. Bhatt} [Duke Math. J. 24, 103-117 (1957; Zbl 0077.280)] and \textit{S. N. Lal} [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 14, 311-319 (1963; Zbl 0117.294)].
