Abstract

Sei \(W^{\infty}_ N\) der Raum der homogenen Polynome \(\sum a_ kz^ kw^{N-k}\) auf dem Ball \(B_ 2\subset {\mathbb{C}}^ 2\) mit der \(L^{\infty}\)-Norm. Verf. zeigt, daß für den Banach-Mazur-Abstand d gilt \(d(W^{\infty}_ N,\ell^{\infty}_{n+1})\leq c,\) wobei c eine Konstante ist, die nicht von N abhängt. Die \(W^{\infty}_ N\) sind \(P_{\lambda}\)-Räume für \(\lambda =2\). Ein offene Problem ist die Existenz einer Funktion \(\phi\) (\(\lambda\)) mit der Eigenschaft, daß \(d(X,\ell^{\infty}_{\dim X})<\phi (\lambda)\) für jeden endlichdimensionalen \(P_{\lambda}\)-Raum X. Das o.a. Resultat stützt diese Vermutung. Der Beweis benützt einen Isomorphismus von \(W^{\infty}_ N\) mit der linearen Hülle der Charaktere \((1,e^{2\pi i\theta},...,e^{2\pi iN\theta})\) versehen mit einer gewichten Norm [vgl. \textit{J. Ryll} and \textit{P. Wojtaszczyk}, Trans. Am. Math. Soc. 276, 107-116 (1983; Zbl 0522.32004)] und ein Zerlegungslemma (Lemma 4.1); das auf \textit{G. Bennet} et al. [Isr. J. Math. 26, 178-187 (1977; Zbl 0339.46022)] zurückgeht. Wegen der Benutzung dieses Lemmas ist der angegebene Isomorphismus nicht explicit. Mit Hilfe derselben Zerlegungstechnik konstruiert der Verf. eine Basis der Algebra \(A(B_ d)\) der in \(B_ d\) holomorphen auf dem Rand stetigen Funktionen.
