Abstract

Rhe ratiowj between the lifetimes for the decays3HΛ → →3He+π− and3HΛ → D+p+π− has been calculated as a function of the spinj of the3HΛ (j=1/2 orj=3/2). The experimental valuewexp≲1 favoursj=1/2, showing that the Λ-N potential is more attractive in the singlet than in the triplet state. This result does not depend critically on the choice of the wave functions, becausew3/2/w1/2 is independent of it.
