Inequalities for convex bodies and polar reciprocal lattices inR n II: Application ofK-convexity

Inequalities for convex bodies and polar reciprocal lattices in \(\mathbb{R}^ n\). II: Application of \(K\)-convexity
Authors: Wojciech Banaszczyk;

Inequalities for convex bodies and polar reciprocal lattices inR n II: Application ofK-convexity

Abstract

This is a supplement to the author's paper in ibid. 13, 217-231 (1995; Zbl 0824.52011). Upper bounds are established for products of Minkowski's successive minima related to a lattice, a convex body, and their polars. One of them is applied to improve results of \textit{R. Kannan} and \textit{L. Lovász} [Ann. Math., II. Ser. 128, No. 3, 577-602 (1988; Zbl 0659.52004)] estimating the lattice width of a convex body \(U\) by the number of lattice points in \(U\).

Keywords

Convexity and finite-dimensional Banach spaces (including special norms, zonoids, etc.) (aspects of convex geometry), polar body, Inequalities and extremum problems involving convexity in convex geometry, Lattices and convex bodies (number-theoretic aspects), successive minima, lattice, convex body
