In this paper a modification of the King's methodF for finding a bracketed root is presented in which the first-secant step and the auxiliary Snyder's steps are replaced by bisection steps. It is shown that modified algorithm is more effective than King's procedure. Two FORTRANIV subroutines are included.
bisection steps, Snyder's steps, Numerical computation of solutions to single equations, first-secant step, bracketed root, Software, source code, etc. for problems pertaining to numerical analysis
