Two different discrimination learning experiments, the first using rats and the second cats, provide clear support for facilitation of acquisition rate by physostigmine injections. The results suggest that facilitating effects of physostigmine may be limited to a small dose range (.025–.075 mg/kg), although such facilitatory effects may be limited to discrimination learning.
