Instrumental neutron activation analysis was employed to measure 43 elements, including some macroconstituents, in the leaves of some species of the epiphytic genusTillandsia (Bromeliaceae). The results, confirming the oligotrophyc nature of the genus, are briefly discussed with regard to a possible role as multielemental environmental monitors.
