The author provides a careful study of two-point Padé and two point Padé-type approximants in the setting of a non-commutative algebra on a commutative field. Previous work of the author and others concentrated on the non-normal commutative case. Here, he considers the normal non- commutative case. Algebraic properties including recurrence relations are established, computation of the two-point Padé type approximants is discussed, and some convergence results are provided. The relation to generalized orthogonal polynomials is an essential ingredient of the development of the theory.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 6 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
