In the present paper the so-called “loss factor” for the case of toroidal plasma accelerator is determined on the basis of the law of momentum conservation. This factor characterizes the influence of the remaining gas on the plasma movement. The magnitude of this factor is determined also experimentally. The low-pressure toroidal glow discharge situated in the moving magnetic field was used for experiments.
