Abstract

Continuant à developper les idées de \textit{F. Thaine} [Ann. Math., II. Ser. 128, No.1, 1-18 (1988; Zbl 0665.12003)], l'auteur prouve ici deux résultats remarquables en direction de la conjecture principale de la théorié d'Iwasawa pour les extensions abéliennes F des corps quadratiques imaginaires: le premier, en une variable, concerne la composée avec F de la \({\mathbb{Z}}_ p\)-extension \({\mathfrak p}\)-ramifiee d'un tel corps K pour un nombre premier p décomposé dans K comme produit \({\mathfrak pp}'\) de deux idéaux premiers; le second, en deux variables, fait intervenir la \({\mathbb{Z}}^ 2_ p\)-extension d'un tel corps. L'auteur déduit ces résultats de son travail précédent sur les classes et les unités [Invent. Math. 89, 511-526 (1987; Zbl 0628.12007)] et applique avec fruit les théorèmes obtenus à l'arithmétique des courbes elliptiques à multiplication complexe, étendant en particulier son résultat antérieur sur la finitude du groupe de Tate-Shafarevich pour certaines classes de courbes [Invent. Math. 89, 527-560 (1987; Zbl 0628.14018)]. Il en déduit également une preuve de la conjecture de \textit{B. Mazur} sur les groupes de Selmer dans le cas des \({\mathbb{Z}}_ p\)-extensions cyclotomiques [Invent. Math. 18, 183-266 (1972; Zbl 0245.14015)], ainsi qu'un cas particulier de la conjecture principale suggéré par \textit{R. Greenberg} [Invent. Math. 72, 241-265 (1983; Zbl 0546.14015)].
