1. Low-melting electrodeposits of Cd or Cd and Zn reduce considerably the ductile properties of the various constructional steels at temperatures above 200°C. The effect of a zinc coating was considerably weaker under these conditions. The coatings did not affect the impact toughness of the material. 2. The sensitivity of steel to the action of coatings is little affected by steel properties as determined by the tempering temperature during heat treatment. 3. Steel D (18-9 Ti) is sensitive only to composite Zn−Cd coating.
