The results of work on the creation and development of the ASSPD system, and the LITPD library as a fundamental part of the system, should promote the enhancement of the efficiency and reliability of designed nuclear power plants and research on thermohydraulics. The principles underlying the formation of the LITPD, which contains about 50,000 experimental points at present, provide for the use of the best methods and means of analysis and evaluation of this information. Another subsystem of the ASSPD, i.e., automated means of assessing the data and working out recommendations, is being developed at the TsTD for this purpose. Fruitful work in this area can be furthered by the development of scientific cooperation on the supplementation and use of information contained in the LITPD. Teams who participate in studies and development on the thermal physics of nuclear power plants have an interest in this, in our opinion, and their active participation in collaboration with TsTD will undoubtedly give rise to tangible results.
