The parameters that characterize the thermal evolution of neutron stars whose hadronic matter contains a ..pi../sup -/ meson component are found. It is shown that the surface temperature T/sub R/ of typical neutron stars varies in the range 10/sup 5/ less than or equal to T/sub R/ less than or equal to 10/sup 6/. For T/sub R/ > 10/sup 6/, their cooling is basically due to neutrino losses. For stars with lifetime 10/sup 3/-10/sup 6/ year, the photon luminosity is of order 10/sup 29/-10/sup 33/ ergsec
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
