1. A complex borohydridoaluminate, [(C2H5)4N][Al(BH4)4] has been prepared by the reaction of aluminium borohydride with tetraethylammonium borohydride at room temperature. Its IR spectrum and x-ray photograph have been investigated. 2. The complex decomposes with the evolution of H2, C2H6, (C2H5)3N, metallic aluminum, and boron over the temperature interval of 150°C to 350 °C.
