Summary: Studies of dynamic processes occurring in various natural phenomena (including mechanical processes) always have been, and are, timely problems of theoretical and practical interest. The successful solution of these problems requires daily refinement of existing investigative techniques and the introduction of new methods which give positive results in the solution of general and specific problems in the dynamics of material systems. Furthermore, the mathematical apparatus used in various cases for the study of some characteristic of a dynamic process is of primary importance. This paper deals with studies in the field of analytic mechanics involving generalization and certain modifications of Lagrangian equations of the second kind which make it possible to apply these dynamical equations to various types of holonomic and nonholonomic mechanical systems. Translation from the Russian: Es wird eine Übersicht über die Untersuchungen gegeben, die sich auf Verallgemeinerungen und gewisse Modifikationen der Lagrangeschen Gleichungen zweiter Art beziehen und die die Möglichkeit geben, sie auf holonome und nichtholonome mechanische Systeme mit linearen und nichtlinearen Bindungen beliebiger Ordnung anzuwenden. Es wird eine Analyse der in der Literatur beschriebenen Anwendungen neuer Gleichungen der analytischen Dynamik angeführt, die Differentialoperatoren höherer Ordnung enthalten.
