Summary: Known approaches to the investigation of large deformations of momentless shells of revolution lead to significantly nonlinear differential equations, whose integration entails considerable difficulty. The present work outlines a formulation of the problem with a reduction in the order of the resolving equations, which allows the stress-strain state of the shell to be determined in important particular cases of loading without solving the boundary problem.
