The effect of the viscoelastic properties of polymers on the formation of the actual contact area is analyzed with reference to a rod model of the rough surface. The proposed time dependence of the actual contact area has been verified experimentally by an optical method for surfaces with different finishes (▽ 4, ▽ 8) and for different materials (polycaprolactam, polypropylene).
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 1 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
