1. Production of porous bearing materials from steel chip-graphite compositions is feasible and economically advantageous. 2. The resultant materials have bearing and mechanical properties approaching those of porous sintered iron-graphite materials. 3. The best combination of bearing and physicomechanical properties is exhibited by materials containing 3% graphite.
